What do children play with?
2012 - today
When I first traveled to Cuba as a student in 2012 I began a long-term series there, which explores the question: What do children play with? As a trained educator, I was particularly interested in what children around the world play with when they may not have access to modern technology, gaming consoles, or the internet. Again and again, no matter where I traveled, I spent time with children and asked them about their toys, their rules, what they like to build, or how they like to spend their free time. Turns out there are similarities everywhere in the world. This is a first approach to a long-term project. The pictures were taken in Cuba, Turkey, Albania, and many other places.
